Announcement: Updates to Services, Website, and Patreon

It’s been quiet around here the last month! I’m not going to beat around the bush. I have two announcements.

Services

My editing sale has now ended! Thank you to everyone who supported my (lazy) marketing and contacted me. There will be another sale in the future, though I’m not sure of when.

I will be closed indefinitely to new clients on all projects. The soonest I may re-open my services will be October.

My available services will be changing in October, along with the rates.

Website

My blogging schedule is changing as we go into August, and then the fall and into the new year. Since I’m doing a college program from September to May, I’ll be busier! School work, part-time work, socialising… My online presence is not important compared to those.

Additionally, I will be moving to a new website (name and URL not decided yet), but that shouldn’t affect the availability of my content. It’s time that I let coryldork/CorylDork. I will let everyone know when I’m preparing to move digital abodes!

Patreon

I’ll be changing the tiers during August. To my current patrons, thank you so much for your support thus far! I’m still getting into the swing of things, and learning how many spoons I have for creating different things. Your patience, encouragement, and support have meant an incalculable amount to me.

Website Housekeeping: Privacy Policy

This is just a quick post to inform my readers that I’ve updated my website to include a plain English privacy policy, striving to keep in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDRP).

Considering I’m a small, personal blog and professional website, there isn’t much data I collect from visitors. However, there is some data collected from all visitors, and additional information collected from users who comment on my blog posts.

The privacy policy aims to make it explicitly clear what data is collected, where it is shared, and who is collecting it. I run this site using WordPress on a self-hosted domain, so I am very much in control of what data collection services are implemented on the site via plug-ins, third party programs, and back-end user access. I’m confident that my methods, along with those of the services I use, keep your personal data confidential and secure. (That is, what minimal personal data is collected!)

You are able to read the privacy policy here at any time, as it is linked on every page at the bottom of my website.

At the bottom of the website is also a notification, on every page, to my visitors regarding the implicit and explicit consent given by visiting and interacting with this website. Implicit consent is the consent you give to my website when you visit it, as data is instantly shared upon loading my website. Explicit consent requires your confirmation that the data is being voluntarily given to the website, such as comments and contact forms. Comments have an additional notification in the form regarding data collection.

I’m a tiny website and I don’t need much visitor data in order to run. But I do take your confidentiality, personal data, and safety seriously.

Hiatus

I’m taking a short break to work on a design for the site, and won’t be blogging until then!

I did have the site in maintenance mode, but wanted to have a few pages available still.

I’m hoping to be done with the new design by the end of February. It’s going to look so nice!

Front-end web design was a huge hobby of mine during my teenage years, and then going into university, I lost the motivation for it and focused my time on writing and schoolwork. Since I graduated, I’ve had time to work on my writing as well as my coding. A lot has changed in the last few years, so I have tons to catch up on and learn. It’s been really invigorating to be learning and playing again.

I’ll see you all in a few weeks!

Quick Blog Update!

This is a quick update to say I’m reducing my posts from three times a week to only twice a week. Here is the new change.

  • Monday: Bullet journal posts, on the regular.
  • Any other day of the week: Personal topics, writing-related posts, and any other surprises I come up with or that strike me.

I’m focusing more on my work starting this month, and by “work” I mean creating art, writing stories and poetry, and editing fellow writers’ work. (If you’re interested in hiring me, I’m available to take on more clients for the start of June!)

I may only test this out for the month. At the start of May, I decided to be more spontaneous in my hobbies, and up the seriousness of the artistic crafts I’ve been wanting to focus on for so long. I’m hoping to update more often with my writing and artistic projects, rather than providing more posts.

Besides, I’m screaming on Twitter often enough that we don’t really need to read me three times per week here.

You’ll get another post on Monday, so thanks for being patient with me.

Thanks for understanding!
